It’s not exactly breaking news that guest posting is the number one way to increase your blog’s power. Guest posts provide you with valuable links that are worth much more than a ubiquitous and weak blog roll link. Of course it’s nice to have any link, including blog roll links, because they do slightly improve your traffic when you get an infrequent referred visitor. What I’m talking about though is long term authority and site-wide power. Your goal as a blogger is to get links, but not just any links – you want links that appear in the body of real articles. There are a few ways you can get them. You can solicit a mention (link) like SEO companies are hired to do for their paid clients. That method seems spammy to me though. The best way to get a link – a way that helps both you and the site owner, is to write a guest post! You get a link and the owner of the site gets quality content. Win/Win.      

I’m Looking for Guest Posts!      

I have published 520 articles in the last 1 year and 4 months, managing to never miss a day since my first day on May 26^th, 2009.  17 out of those articles are guest posts, but I wish that number were higher.  I rarely asked for guest posts this past year because I didn’t think my site was quite strong enough to support them.  Now it definitely is.  I’ve been consistently floating at 2,000 unique visitors a day for the last several months (visits bounce between 1500 and 2200), and I have a number of high power posts, 10 of which have more than 20,000 views each (4 of them over 50,000).      

If You Can Write and Have Something Interesting to Say…      

If you want to be a contributor to Almightydad, then I want to hear from you. You don’t need to be another blogger or even a dad to participate.  If you’re a parent (dad or mom), soon to be parent or anybody who wants to join and talk about family – you’re welcome here.  The requirements are simple.      

1. Quality over quantity: Good writing is saying what you want and doing it clearly in as few words as possible.  There is no need for length or perfection, just good ideas conveyed clearly.      

2. Write about anything you want as long as you can relate it to parenting, kids or family. You don’t have to think like me or write like me. You just have to love your family. Easy, right!      

3. Nothing raunchy and no bad language (some exceptions for artistic necessity).      

4. Blog posts should be informative.  They should be something that other people want to read.  Maybe it’s your opinion about baby products or a parenting technique.  They can also be educational.  Perhaps you want to teach people something.  I’ve written successfully about High Fructose Corn Syrup, Multi-Level Marketing schemes (I rank 2^nd on SendOut Cards behind SendOut Cards itself), a doll fad, Halloween costumes, and a bunch of other stuff.      

5. I want real people, not companies submitting press releases or other nonsense like that.      

6. I will give you up to two links per article.  In addition, if you need some SEO advice, I can help.      

7. Almightydad is Bilingual.  You can write in Spanish or English.  Whichever you choose, we’ll translate it into the other.     

Why I’m Asking:      

I’ve built this site to a respectable level, and I’ve been working every day to do it.  When I started I thought I’d never get more than 50 uniques a day. Now I want to push it to the next level by getting involvement from other engaged people.  I want to improve my content by opening it up to other voices.  Like I said earlier, the better the content the better my site is going to be.  I want high quality writing, and in return I want to help people who need links.  As a contributor you’ll get exposure which, if you’re another blogger, will give you more traffic in two key ways — directly from people reading your articles, and then again from google traffic as your blog increases strength and you start ranking on quality topics and terms.  If you’re not a blogger, but you have something to say, your motivation is simple.  You have a voice!  There’s nothing more empowering than that!

No es exactamente noticia de última hora el saber que ser un escritor invitado sea la principal manera de incrementar el poder de tu blog.  Los artículos huéspedes te proveen con invaluables enlaces que valen mucho más que los enlaces ubicuos y débiles de rol.  Por su puesto es bueno tener cualquier tipo de enlace, incluyendo los de rol, porque incluso estos mejoran un poco tu tráfico cuando recibes esporádicamente un visitante referido.  Pero de lo que estoy hablando es de la autoridad a largo plazo y el poder completo del blog.  Tu meta como blogueador es el conseguir enlaces, pero  no cualquier tipo de enlaces – tú vas a querer enlaces que aparezcan en el cuerpo de verdaderos artículos.  Existen unas cuantas maneras en las que puedes conseguirlos.  Tú puedes solicitar ser mencionado (enlace) en la manera en la que compañías de SEO son empleadas por sus clientes pagados.  Pero ese método se me hace spammy.  La mejor manera de conseguir un enlace – de manera que te ayude a ti y al dueño de la página en donde quieres tu enlace, ¡es el escribir un artículo como escritor invitado!  Tú obtienes tu enlace y el dueño de la página obtiene contenido de calidad.  Todos ganan.

He publicado 520 artículos durante el último año y 4 meses, consiguiendo no faltarme ningún día desde que empecé el 26 de Mayo del 2009.  17 de esos artículos fueron de escritores invitados, pero a mí me gustaría que ese número fuera mayor.  Este año pasado raramente pedí artículos a escritores invitados porque no consideraba que mi blog fuera lo suficientemente fuerte como para sostenerles.  Ahora definitivamente lo es.  Consistentemente he estado teniendo 2,000 visitantes únicos al día durante los últimos meses (las visitas varían de entre 1,500 y 2,200), y tengo un buen número de artículos poderosos, 10 de los cuales han tenido más de 20,000 vistas (4 de estos más de 50,000). 

Sí tú puede escribir y tienes algo interesante que decir… 

Si quieres ser un contribuidor de Almightydad, entonces quiero saber de ti.  No necesitas ser otro blogueador o un padre para poder participar.  Si eres padre (padre o madre), o vas a ser padre o eres alguien quien disfruta hablando de asuntos de familia – eres bienvenido aquí.  Los requisitos son simples. 

1. Cualidad sobre cantidad: La buena escritura es la que dice lo que quieres claramente y en tan pocas palabras como sea posible.  No hay necesidad de largos rollos para ser perfectos, simplemente ideas transmitidas claramente. 

2. Escribe acerca de cualquier cosa siempre y cuando sea relacionado con la crianza, los niños o la familia.  Tú no tienes que pensar de la misma manera en la que yo pienso.  Simplemente tienes que amar a tu familia.  ¡Fácil, cierto! 

3. Nada que sea obsceno y sin groserías (con algunas excepciones por necesidad artística). 

4. Los artículos para el blog deben ser informativos.  Deben ser algo que otras personas quieran leer.  Tal vez sea tu opinión acerca productos para bebé o una técnica de crianza.  También pueden ser educativos.  Tal vez quieras enseñar algo a las personas.  Yo he escrito con éxito acerca del Jarabe de maíz de alta fructosa, las estafas de marquetería de multinivel (caigo en 2^nd lugar en SendOut Cards detrás del mismo SendOut Cards), a manías de muñecas, disfraces de Halloween, y un montón de otros temas. 

5. Quiero personas de verdad, no compañías enviando comunicados de prensa u otras tonterías como esas. 

6. Te daré dos enlaces por artículo.  Además, si quieres consejos en SEO, también puedo ayudar. 

7. Almightydad es bilingüe.  Tú puedes escribirnos en inglés o español.  Cualquiera que tu escojas, y nosotros lo traducimos al otro idioma. 

Porqué estoy solicitando: 

He conseguido llevar este blog a un nivel respetable, y he trabajado día tras día para conseguirlo.  Cuando lo comencé yo creía que nunca llegaría a tener más de 50 visitas únicas al día.  Ahora quiero llevarlo al siguiente nivel atrayendo la participación de otras personas activas.  Quiero mejorar mi contenido abriéndolo a otras voces.  Como lo dije antes, entre mejor es el contenido mejor va a ser mi blog.  Yo quiero artículos de alta calidad, y a cambio quiero ayudar a otras personas con sus enlaces.  Como contribuidor vas a recibir exposición, lo cual si eres otro blogueador te dará más tráfico en dos formas claves – directamente por medio de las personas leyendo tus artículos,  y nuevamente tráfico de Google al incrementar el poder de tu blog y al comenzar a calificar en temas de calidad y otros términos.  Si no eres un blogueador, pero tienes algo que decir, tu motivación es simple.  ¡Tienes una voz!  ¡Nada tiene más empoderamiento que eso!
