Blogging is Easy Peasy!¡El Bloguear es pan comido!
By: Keith

I wrote a guest article for Dennis-yu.com today. Go see it! The article in question is Blogging is as Simple as Pulling your Head out of your Ass.
Blogging is painfully simple. I’ve talked to people who say they want to blog, but they’re afraid of technology. They want to write but they’re afraid of what people with think. They want to try it but they don’t think anybody will read. That might all be true. So what? Blogging is no different than anything else people will or won’t do in life. There are some people who stop making excuses and try, and there are people who will wish for something their entire life without doing it. My take on blogging is this: Yes, there are details to learn. Yes, people might laugh at you. Perhaps worse, nobody will read at all. Well, you can overcome all of those obstacles with a little bit of curiosity and patience. My blog is still growing; it’s a fledgling. The point is though that I’ve done something I can be proud of. I couldn’t say that 7 months ago. All I could say was “well, I want to do it, but…”

Hoy escribí un artículo para Dennis-Yu.com. ¡Ve a verlo! El artículo se llama Blogging is as Simple as Pulling your Head out of your Ass (Bloguear es tan fácil como el sacar tu cabeza de tu trasero).

It hurts to take responsibility for your failures – we learn from our pain and get better, but the path of least resistance is to avoid risk of failure by doing nothing at all. Excuses are a way of negating responsibility. Keep encouraging your friends to start blogging. Everyone should find a voice and express themselves; this is a basic requirement for joining into the larger discussion.
Mike, thanks for the comment. I’m encouraging everybody to blog, not just friends. You’re right, most people give up before they start and that’s why they fail.

Yeah, Yeah, Bob — everyone’s a critic
I fixed it. Thanks for pointing it out!
I learned a lot when my own family couldn’t be bothered with my blog so now I prefer to keep my writing private.
Mom, I don’t know what to say about that. I guess the accusation is deserved, and I’m sorry.
It is simple! And I wouldn’t have realized either! And fun. What isn’t fun is when you try to move it…. grrrr…. right up there with moving that mouse out of my house. Enjoyed!

Wolf, I hear what you’re saying about migrating your blog. I’m sorry that’s turned into such a nightmare for you.
Blogging is a lot like Golf…. easy to play but hard to master.
From my experience it is fun and easy to come up with enough stuff to post about, the tricky part is promoting your blog in a way that people can find and enjoy it.

Chris, Totally correct. I think anybody who wants to give it a try should not be scared away by the details. Promoting is somewhat tricky but just really comes down to a slow process of networking and getting links. It’s just very slow for most people. I think that’s the problem. it’s such a slow process that people tend to give up before they get anywhere. Thanks for the comment!
So true! You can go through life saying “I should’a, I would’a but I didn’t.” For me, failure is trying and not “succeeding;” failure is just not trying at all. Good post!
