Restaurant.com Horror Story

I‘ve used restaurant.com for years. Great deals on gift certificates, so long as you abide by the fine print on when you can use them and minimum spend. But last week, I was shocked to find out how awful their customer support is.
My family and I were looking to treat ourselves to barbecue. Found what appeared to be a nice place on restaurant.com. Turns out that their phone number doesn’t work, nor does the restaurant.com one.
Waited on hold 20 minutes twice for an agent, and finally got through to some cranky guy who said he wouldn’t check to see if this place exists. We would have to drive 25 minutes out to find out ourselves. I asked again if he could help, same reply, but in a “do you speak English” tone. So we asked for a refund, but he hung up.
Then checked the Better Business Bureau link on restaurant.com, which shows an A+ rating. Suspicious, so when I clicked on it, it went to a 404 page.
They are trying to fool customers into thinking they have great service.
Called back again, and they had no record of the call, then said we should drive to the restaurant to see. No refund. No reply by email either.
Every call center has some people who are not the nicest folks or perhaps not on certain days. Restaurant.com fails here- great product. Terrible support.
