Pumpkin Carvings: Most Creative
comment 10 Written by Keith on October 14, 2009 – 12:06 pm

My boys and I tried carving our pumpkins for the first time last year.  Previously we had just painted them.  I’m sorry to say that I’m not a very good instructor and our pumpkins came out looking extremely normal.  I gave up on trying to create artistic pumpkin carvings a long time ago.  My Jack O’lanterns  are basic — triangular eyes and nose (because I can only cut straight lines) and a toothless smile.  I’m happy with basic.  However, there are some people who have creativity pouring out of them, and which manifests itself in pumpkin art.  What I have here is a collection of some of the most creative pumpkin designs around.  There are some I found, but did not include, that take more artistic skill (like the Obama carving or the Predator Carving if you want to look them up).  I think the ones I’ve listed, while perhaps not all technically difficult, were tops for creativity irrespective of that.

  1. Ha ha, what a hoot! Funny how they come alive. I’m in favor of the lots of glue ones because pumpkin carving can be a bit dangerous. Thanks for finding these.

  3. yeah, the glued ones seem slightly less risky :-) I stink at pumpkin carving, but then i’ve never had good tools. Maybe the tools make all the difference.

  5. Oh man, those are AWESOME! :) I love those. I wish I had the skill to turn out something like that. But my kids are going to have to be happy with a few toothy grins on our pumpkins. :)
