Oven Roasted Potato Chips
By: Keith
I made potato chips yesterday! They were such a success that I’m sharing the recipe with you today. They’re also so incredibly easy that even a guy like me can do them with confidence. Besides, they might not look as uniform as Lay’s chips, but they sure do taste a ton better, and they’re infinitely more healthy. Give them a try and you’ll see.
Stuff You’ll Need:
Potatoes (Duh)
Chili Powder
Cumin
Olive Oil
Salt
Garlic Powder (optional)
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 425º F. Slice as many potatoes as will fit onto a baking sheet without overlapping into ¼ inch-thick slices; set aside.
Combine 1 tablespoon olive oil, 1 teaspoon chili powder, ½ teaspoon salt, and ¼ teaspoon ground cumin. (I didn’t actually measure anything so it’s just a matter of your taste how much of each ingredient you want).
Pat the potato slices to dry them, then add potatoes to coating mix; toss gently until they’re uniformly coated.
Cover a lightly oiled nonstick baking sheet with a single layer of potatoes and dust them with a little garlic powder; bake for 20 minutes, turning once at 10 minutes.
Serve them
Serving size: probably the whole batch

Those look and sound good. That might just be supper with a nice salad. I’ve made something similar in the past and they were good.
If you want a different flavor you can try some curry power mixed in also, if you like curry.
Mmmm. I’m definitely going to try these! Who knew you could do them without a deep-fat fryer! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We do something similar to fries and new potatoes. We eat very healthy and so alternatives like yours are always good for the adults that have had the processed junk.
These sound great and will satisfy that craving without all the fat. Wonder if canola oil will work. Will save me a trip to the grocery store.
Matt: I think canola oil would work just fine. Good luck!
