Guest Post to Glad Dads

I was invited to write an article for Glad Dads. I had just finished reading to my boys The Old Man and the Sea from our list of favorites, so it was a good opportunity to relay how important it is to read adult books to kids, not just any book. It is not easy to read out loud to kids because, let’s face it, we have not done it since we were in school. It takes practice, but it’s a lot of fun. Sometimes you’ll have to stop and explain things about the book, because it may be something about which your kids are not familiar. This is a great opportunity to learn new stuff.
