  Cheap Trinkets That Look Like They’re Not   

Okay, most gumball machines spit out worthless crap.  But, have you seen the quarter machines that dispense these cute, colorful rings?  My mom has!  In fact, she makes a point to stop at one whenever she, the machine, and a quarter are in the same place at the same time.  ”But,” you say, “those things are just cheap rings.  Why would anybody want them?”  Oh, I’m sorry, my friend.  How little you know!  These little rings are frequently mistaken for designer jewelry.  No kidding!  My mom, who lives in Redondo Beach, California, gives these to her family and friends as presents.  My wife loves them, both my sisters wear them, and so do friends.  They have each reported people asking them, “Where did you get that ring?  It’s so cute!”  One friend even said, “I like your ring.  I got one like that at Nordstrom.”  Except I bet she didn’t pay 25 cents for it!   

The lesson of this story, folks, is obvious.  Pay attention to the little things.  Don’t dismiss an item just because it’s inexpensive, and don’t buy an item just because it’s pricey.  These rings are awesome.  I think they’re pretty (and, being a heterosexual guy, I know something about what’s attractive), and other women think they’re a fashion statement.  The rings come in a variety of sizes so that means you should make a collection.  Some will fit you, and others will fit your friends.  Either way there is an abundance of variety.  I took a picture of just a few from my mom’s collection.  Aren’t they pretty?  Well, I think they are.

  Chucherías baratas que no lo parecen

Bueno, la mayoría de las maquinitas de chicles te dan porquerías inútiles.  Pero, ¿has visto las maquinitas de 25 centavos que te dan estos monos y coloridos anillos?  ¡Mi mamá las ha visto!  De hecho, ella procura detenerse a usar una cada vez que ella, la máquina, y 25 centavos se encuentran en el mismo lugar al mismo tiempo.  “Pero,” dirás, “esas cosas son solamente anillos baratos”  ¿Por qué los querría alguien?”  Oh, lo siento, amigo.  ¡Qué poco conoces!  Estos anillitos son con frecuencia confundidos con joyería de diseñador.  ¡En serio!  Mi mamá, quien vive en Redondo Beach, California, da estos a su familia y amigas como regalos.  A mi esposa le encantan, mis dos hermanas los usan, y también sus amigas.  Cada una ha reportado haber tenido a alguna persona preguntándoles, “¿Dónde compraste ese anillo?  Está monísimo!”  Una miga incluso dijo, “Me gusta tu anillo.  Yo me compré uno similar en Nordstrom.”  Pero ¡te apuesto que ella no pagó 25 centavos por su anillo!

Amigos, la lección en esta historia es obvia.  Pon atención a las pequeñas cosas.  No las ignores simplemente porque no son caras,, y no compres artículos simplemente porque cuestan mucho.  Estos anillos son fabulosos.  Yo creo que son bonitos (y, siendo un tipo heterosexual, yo sé algo acerca de lo que es considerado atractivo), y otras mujeres piensan que se trata de una declaración de la moda.  Los anillos vienen con variedad de tamaños, lo que significa que puedes hacer tu colección.  Algunos te quedarán, o otros les quedarán a tus amigas.  De cualquier manera hay una abundancia y variedad.  Yo tomé una foto de solo algunos de los anillos en la colección de mi mamá.  ¿Acaso no son bonitos?  Bueno, yo creo que lo son.

Sí, ¡tengo un dedo muy feo!  Estos tres son los que más me gustaron 

(pero no para mí, ¡para mi esposa!).
