Blog Visitors: Countries with no Visits

By: Keith

I got inspired yesterday by another blogger who saw his analytics and noticed the only US state that didn’t have a visitor to his blog was Wyoming.  He made it his mission to get that piece of the US colored green on his map; and, this week, that’s exactly what he’s done.  Yes, his US map is now entirely green.

I’m shooting for the whole world!  I have a problem though.  North Korea is probably out of the question.  Some of those African countries seem like long shots as well.  Somalia probably doesn’t have many people interested in American stay at home parenting and homeschooling topics.  As for Svalbard.  People live in Svalbard?

By the way, Afghanistan is a big fat mistake by analytics because I am certain that I’ve had visits from military personnel in Afghanistan.  I’m thinking, though, that there must be a good reason that those visits have not been included for the Afghan tally.  Here’s the list of countries that don’t have at least 1 visit, and I’ve also included the map (for your visualization needs) and the 25 countries with the highest numbers of unique visitors in the past year.  I included Pages/Visits because, well, I don’t know – just because.

No Visits: Eritrea, Somalia, Western Sahara, Mauritania, Guinea-Bissau, Liberia, Burkina, Sierra Leone, Niger, Chad, Central African Republic, Congo, Djibouti, Dem. Rep of Congo, Angola, Zimbabwe, Malawi, Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, North Korea, and Svalbard (Part of Norway but counted separately by Analytics).

If you’re curious to know, there are 19 countries with only 1 visit. They are Togo, Solomon Islands, Tajikistan, Madagascar, New Caledonia, Gabon, French Polynesia, Saint Lucia, Timor-Leste, Equatorial Guinea, Falkland Islands (Malvinas for you Argentineans out there), Greenland, Papua New Guinea, Monaco, Seychelles, Samoa, French Guiana, Mali, Fiji, and Kyrgyzstan.  But, let’s take care of one problem at a time.  First, the countries with no visits!

If I ever get a visit from North Korea I’ll buy advertising to announce the achievement.

That is very cool. I was surprised when I looked at mine the other day to see how many countries I had covered. (not as many as you, but a lot) It impressed upon me the reach that the internet truely gives us.

    Keith,

Congratulations on having a global reach! Amazing what happens when people from other countries are searching for things that Google believes you to be the best result on the Internet for such searches!

I am enjoying your blog posts and am actually surprised that you do not have more Canadian visits – I stop in regularly and have you on the RSS feed…

Susan: Thanks for your very kind Canadian patronage! :-) I agree with you. I would have thought I would see more Canadian visits. I wonder if it’s just that I’m not targeting well enough or if it’s a cultural difference or something. I’d be curious to know what would make our Canadian friends happy so that I could write more about those things! Thanks again, Susan. your visits here really are much appreciated.

I looked at my stats and realized that every state except for South Dakota has visited my blog. Why does South Dakota hate me?

I didn’t see Portugal on here. I’m in the states, but I have a friend in Portugal. Is it time for an eye check up and I missed it?
Just found your blog today. =)

Evo: Portugal is not one of my top 25, but I’ve still had several hundred visits from there.
