De 40 a 1,226 visitas al día en 60 días: ¡SEO sí funciona!

Los viernes son normalmente los días en que escribo una historia. Pero, hoy estoy presentando, para quien quiera que esté interesado, mis analíticas. Yo nunca he visto el tráfico de otras personas así que no tengo otra información con qué comparar la mía. El punto no es el número en general; es la tendencia cuesta arriba. Yo te doy aquí algunas impresiones del tráfico durante Septiembre y Octubre. Estas son de visitantes únicos, no de páginas vistas. Cuando yo empecé a escribir en este blog, en Mayo, hasta Septiembre mi tráfico había sido un número fijo entre 35 y 80 visitantes al día. Era frustrante no ver ningún progreso mayor a pesar de todos mis esfuerzos. Sin embargo, yo sabía que con buen SEO y un poco de persistencia el tráfico eventualmente empezaría a multiplicarse; yo solamente no tenía que darme por vencido. Finalmente el movimiento que yo tanto había estado esperando se empezó a ver en Septiembre. Tú notarás que el cambio es muy sutil, pero que se mueve constantemente cuesta arriba. Yo empecé el mes de Septiembre con menos de 100 visitantes al día. Yo terminé el mes con 269 visitantes. Me mantuve entre 250 y 300 visitantes hasta los medidos de Octubre cuando empezó otro cambio cuesta arriba de unos 400 visitantes constantes al día. Hora, empezando hace como cinco días, yo he tenido más de 1,000 visitantes al día. Ayer yo terminé, y tú puedes verlo en la imagen, con 1,126 visitantes. Esto es bueno, pero también significa que puedo hacer más para fomentar visitantes repetidos. Siempre, lo más importante es ser visto por los motores de búsqueda. La lealtad a la página también es algo muy importante y en lo que todavía tengo que trabajar.
Las últimas tres imágenes son impresiones de mi tráfico por país. Una cosa que me ayudó fue el traducir mi página en español. Ahora tengo varios cientos de visitas al día viniendo de España y de México. Sudamérica y Centroamérica también ya están empezando a dar la vuelta.
De una manera estoy presumiendo, pero más que nada estoy demostrando que la persistencia si paga. Principalmente yo me preocupo en escribir contendido que creo que la gente encuentra interesante y educativo; esa es siempre la parte más importante. Pero, los blogadores tienen que preocuparse por otras cosas además de escribir buen contenido. También tenemos que aprender una o dos cosas acerca de SEO y otras cosas que atraerán personas a leer lo que ellos tienen que decir. Tres recursos míos que me han sido de mucha ayuda son Dennis-Yu.com, seomoz.org, y seobook.com. He esperado hasta ahora para compartir estas páginas porque quería ver primero que la información sí funcionara. Lo último que yo quiero es promover estafas o algo en lo que yo no creo. Bueno, créelo, ¡SEO sí funciona! Contenido + SEO = ganancia cada vez.

Thanks, Stephanie! There are two ways to get translations done. The free way is with the Google tool. It’ll translate everything immediately but it’ll definitely sound like a computer did it. It’ll probably be understandable, but a little off. The other way, which is what I did, is to get it professionally done. I totally cheated though because my wife is a translator by profession
Content (legal stuff costs the most) and size determine cost. She has charged people by project on occasion and sometimes she charges by word. If it’s by word then it’s between 10 and 15 cents per word (that’s the reason we usually only see large companies with professional translations). It can get expensive, but it all depends on what market you’re going after. It is worth it if you expect high traffic in that language. I get about half my visits from Spanish Speakers. I had 190 from Spain yesterday and 165 from Mexico. Another 120 or so from the rest of central and south America. I’m expecting that to be pretty big in the future. You can easily use the google tool and that would probably be a pretty cool feature. There is a wordpress plugin that handles the translation on your blog. It woulnd’t take long to do either. If you wanted something professional then that can be done too
