Todo el mundo sabe del millón, billón, y trillón.  Pero no muchas personas saben que sigue después.  El otro día mi hijo y su mejor amigo estaban discutiendo acerca de esto.  Sam, el amigo, insistía que el illón era el zillón.  Neil vino más tarde y me dijo “¡Oye papá!  ¿Qué sigue después de un millón?”  Yo dije, “No lo sé.  Díme.”  “¡Un Zillón!”  Y ahí fue cuando decidí ir a investigarlo.  Llego directamente a mi gran libro de hecho inútliles.  Neil y yo aprendimos lo que sigue después.

    I like your math lesson, however there is an error in the googleplex definition. A gooleplex is 10 raised to the google power, which is 1 followed by a google number of zeros. This is an inceivably large number–so large it can’t be written out. Assuming you could inscribe a zero on every atom of the universe, you’d run out of atoms to write on long before you’d be finished writing zeros.

    Interesting… I wonder what “Vigint” means? The rest of the pattern makes sense until then. I tried looking it up. “Vigintile” seems to refer to 20, which seems like it doesn’t make sense coming after “oct” and “nov”…

    I actually knew Quad and Quint, but never really thought much about numbers beyond them. All I know is that I’d like the interest on a Decillion even at today’s pathetic market rates.

    En mi idioma un millón de millones (10^12) es un billón. Pero en inglés mil milllones (10^9) es un billón. En castellano un millón de billones (10^18) es un trillón ¿Y en inglés? Con la notación científica no hay error.
