Cuando mis hijos eran bebés yo solía cantarles canciones de cuna para ponerles a dormir.  He buscado por canciones de cuna en el Internet, y no he visto suficientes páginas que incluyan las canciones completas.  Aquí he compilado una lista de varias canciones de cuna completas.  No son tan difíciles de memorizar y todos conocemos las tonadas.  Tal vez después me sienta motivado un día y ponga archivos con las tonadas de cada canción.  Hasta entonces – ¡Improvisa!

    I always loved the tune and premise of ‘Hush Little Baby’; trying to comfort a child ~ Although found it to be a little ‘buy’ happy and have always been rubbed the wrong way by over-consumerism ~ thankfully Sylvia Long felt the same way. Here is her beautiful version.

      Elta, Thank you! I didn’t think too much of the song until you just mentioned it. I wonder what the history is behind it, what the reasoning is behind the lyrics. I like these too. Very sweet :-)

    This is delightful, Keith. I remember being sung to as a very small child, and I remember singing to my boys before they were born (yes, indeed), and also, as babies and toddlers.

    To my elder, I always sang a Russian song – not a lullaby per se, but the melody was gorgeous and so cradling. As a baby, he was a terrible sleeper, and I would sing that same song, and it would calm him. I always thought was cool. I wonder if he would still recall it. My younger son was such a GREAT sleeper, and always smiling and calm. He didn’t need a lullaby; he preferred a story – but he was happy with either, and happy even to be held in the quiet.

    This post brought back very sweet memories. Thank you.

    Oh i had so much trouble with words to songs, I mostly just hummed the tunes. I finally did find a great resource, the library lady at the local library writes down all the rhymes and songs she sings on her blog

    Also if you use pandora you can make a children’s station by putting in “Itsy Bitsy Spider” and choosing the title with (family) after it. You can also add in some Mozart if you wanted! Although, when they have the occasional commercials it always seems to be about Beer lately which I most just think is funny and a waste of the money of the advertiser.

      I cheated, Stephanie. I have a really old book that my grandma gave me with all the lyrics. I know a couple of them by heart, but mostly I just plagiarized :-) They’re all public domain anyway, right! LOL

    hi!!! thanks keith!!! i’ve been looking for a good website containing lullabies to sing to my child…I’m argentinian and i’m studying to become an english teacher, and of course, i talk to him in english but it doesn’t have the same effect as a song has.. so thank youuuu!!!
